Why we won the Gold Award
Abbey School is delighted to have been awarded the Anti-bullying Gold Award! This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our pupils, who have come together to create a truly inclusive and welcoming environment within our school.
Our students have been instrumental in fostering a space where everyone feels safe and heard. This commitment to inclusion is not only reflected in our school culture but has also been recognised with the UNICEF Rights Respecting Gold Award. It is encouraging to see our pupils’ efforts being acknowledged at such a high level.
As part of our ongoing initiative to promote well-being and support amongst our students, we have implemented several key initiatives. Our Pupil Parliament plays a vital role in ensuring that every voice is valued, and decisions reflect the needs of our school community. Additionally, our Worry Club is a fantastic peer support group, always available during break and lunchtime for any pupil who needs someone to talk to.
Furthermore, we have "Listen Up" cards, which enable pupils to easily communicate with a member of staff whenever they feel it necessary. This ensures that support is always accessible to our students, promoting a culture of openness and understanding.
